It was absolutely one of the hottest days of the year today. I went out for a few hours after work tonight. Success as you can see! I tried the Zoom Flukes for about 10-15 minutes with no luck. So I moved to the good old trusty Texas Rig Worm. Boom! I was able to catch some fish.
Black Zoom Trick Worm for the first bass of the day. Good size bass. These are the 6-inch Zoom Trick Worms if you were wondering. This is one of my favorite lures of all time. I have a ton of confidence with it, and have not picked it back up since last fall. It was fun to rig it up and catch fish again with it. I normally will use a 3/16oz black tungsten weight from Academy Sports H20 brand. They are low profile, and gives the worm the optimal "drop" or "sink" rate that I think the fish really like.
The second and third bass I caught was on a Zoom Ol' Monster 10 and a half-inch worm in the Red Shad color. These bass were bigger too! They were both above 2 pounds. Bigger bass definitely go after the bigger presentations. I have had smaller bass go after these, but they definitely attract the bigger bass in this specific pond. Again, I was using a 3/16oz tungsten weight. I don't like to add a ton of weight because I like the drop speed to be slower.
I hope you are all successful in your fishing adventures and thank you for reading! Stay committed, stay driven.
